The 2nd Sunday of May is celebrated as Mothers’ Day. A day when we give thanks and show our appreciation to the mothers.
My wife and I would like to show our appreciation and love to some specific mothers. As such, we were looking for something to give them. Flowers would be the easiest choice, but we were thinking of something different as their spouses would probably have that covered. We don’t have tons of cash to burn, so we need to be prudent on this purchase.
Prudent and wise… and Châteraisé (シャトレーゼ pronounced as Sha-To-Ray-Sze)
Châteraisé made a special cake this mothers day, and it looked (and priced) perfectly. We scrapped the needed amount and purchased a handful of these tasty looking things. We’ve later put them in the fridge to be given to our chosen mothers the next day.
However, while queuing to pay, my wife spotted the melon bun. I guess she got hungry by looking at the cakes. The bun does not taste anything like a melon. Why is it called a melon bun? The bun covered with a thin layer of crisp cookie dough that looks like a melon!
The cake was a hit to the mothers receiving them. So we decided to go back and buy one for ourselves. We also tried out their Mitarashi Dango, a Japanese dumpling skewered in groups of 3, glazed with sweet soy sauce. It was mouth watering.
Châteraisé gave us the perfect mothers day treat, something that is tasty and reasonably priced. You can grab these tasty Japanese treats at a store near you.
